You can capture the screen with Print Screen or the active window with Alt+Print Screen, and good players will let you take screenshots and save them to disk directly. However, if you're using an overlay mixing mode to do the FMV, which you should beacuse it's faster, chances are that all you'll capture is a black box (always happens if you use Print Screen).

To take screenshots, I use Media Player Classic(*). You can set the capture key in View+Options, Player→Keys, Save Image (auto). If it doesn't capture anything, try setting this mode while you capture: View+Options, Playback→Output, DirectShow Video: Old Renderer. That should do it.

(*): Media Player Classic (NOT the one built in with Windows) is my player of choice: a minimalistic, well done, power user oriented piece of software. No XML shit or other bloatware elements; no stupid skins that look like an airship and you have to study to find where every button is; no bugs; all the technical switches you need are not hidden or disguised with funny names like Microsoft does, but presented with a simple and straightforward terminology.

Ok, ive got a big problem, and even after several attempts at trying to rectify it i cant sort it out.
Whenever i try to play a backed up game with ePSXe, or otherwise, it just sends me straight to the blue screen of death: "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage...".

Now, i figured it might be down to the fact i havent downloaded any service packs for my Windows XP (professional), since the blue screen mentions a driver error as one of the many reasons im having problems. So i pick up a copy of windows service pack 2 from my dad, extract all the update files, yet when it comes to installing it it detects that "the product key used to install Microsoft Windows may noy be valid".
I have no idea where to go with this, since it implies reinstalling Windows XP, which is quite a drastic action. Is there any way to bypass the inpection section of the installation which finds me out?

IRT Cata: Long ago I had this happen to me with another 3D application after a video driver upgrade; it issued BSODs every now and then. They were fixed with the latest Service Pack which I had forgotten to install. New driver versions might make use of some hardware features that cause Windows to exhibit bugs you had, but never suffered before. I'm afraid the only two things you can try after making sure you have the last DirectX and video drivers version, is to install SP2 (perhaps asking somewhere how to bypass this inconvenience, or downloading a fixed version of SP2 if it exists, (*)), or to revert to previous video drivers (the ones you had when it worked).

(*): I'm afraid I can't help with this, I don't have Windows XP, but a lot of people do, so there must be a solution somewhere. Try software named like animals.

You're wrong Cata, he gets paid by the Ministry
Wiser, in a month or two, my PC decides to restart by itself, and when I came back to windows, all of my recently visited webpages are gone from Mozilla, it's like when I deleted the visited pages in IE. This is the way Mozilla do this, or what's wrong? It's not disturbing ata all, only when i'm playing or dloading.
